How Town Caddy Started: Solving the City Golfer Problem

Golf has always been built around full rounds, carts, and bulky equipment. But for many of us living in cities, that isn’t how the game fits into everyday life.

Town Caddy began with a simple frustration: there was no clean, lightweight way to carry just a few clubs around town.

Walking to the range. Taking public transit. Riding in a rideshare. Storing a bag in a small apartment or office. Traditional golf bags weren’t designed for any of that.

The Gap We Saw

Most carry bags are designed for full 18-hole days. They’re heavy, oversized, and loaded with pockets you rarely use. Range slings, on the other hand, often feel cheap, uncomfortable, or poorly built.

We wanted something in between:

  • Slim enough for everyday use

  • Light enough to carry comfortably

  • Durable enough for city life

  • Refined enough to look good anywhere

The First Idea

The original concept was simple:
A minimalist carry bag that holds only what you need — clubs, balls, tees, a glove — and nothing more.

It needed to be:

  • Easy to grab and go

  • Comfortable to carry

  • Clean in design

  • Built to last

That idea became Town Caddy.

What Comes Next

From here, the journey moved quickly into prototyping, testing, and refining. Every decision — from strap placement to material choice — has been guided by one goal: build the best everyday carry bag for the modern city golfer.

We’ll be documenting every step.

Next up: Building the first prototype.
